Jigs offer an alternative to rotary pans and DMS for diamond concentration. Jigs require a clean feed and also a close size fraction range when fed to each jigging unit. This implies de-sanding and size classification are required to prepare the feed for a jigging plant. The tight size range fed to jigs allows for improved recovery efficiencies when compared to rotary pans.

By utilizing a rougher/ scavenger circuit one can reduce the amount of concentrate to 1-5 % of head feed minimizing the load on the final recovery.

Through use of variable speed drives and eccentric cam shafts, once can vary the pulse frequency and stroke length adjusting for different size ranges being treated, maintaining optimal recovery across varying size ranges.

Manhattan designs and manufactures its own duplex jigging units with bottom pulse introduction.
